Missing in Oklahoma: Where is Callie Santis?

  Police in Oklahoma City are looking for Callie Santis, a 34-year-old woman who hasn't been in contact with her loved ones since early this morning. Santis is reportedly in need of vital medication, which she is unable to take while missing. Her loved ones are concerned for her and are desperately trying to locate her. Fox 25 News reports that 34-year-old Callie Santis was last seen at her apartment on the 8300th Block of North Council Road at approximately 2:00 a.m. She was reportedly wearing a maroon Harry Potter outfit. Unfortunately, there aren't any other details in her disappearance at this time. If you've seen missing woman Callie Santis, please do not hesitate to call 911.

As someone who has been writing about true crime and criminal justice for years, I’ve seen the many flaws of our justice system up close. From wrongful convictions to excessive sentencing, there are many ways in which our system fails those it’s supposed to protect. One of the biggest issues with our criminal justice system is its reliance on punishment rather than rehabilitation. Too often, individuals who have committed crimes are thrown into prison without any real attempt to address the underlying issues that led to their behavior in the first place. This approach not only fails to address the root causes of criminal behavior, but it also perpetuates a cycle of recidivism. Another issue with our criminal justice system is the racial and socioeconomic disparities that exist within it.
